Ross Whiteley, the hard-hitting allrounder, has signed a two-year deal with Derbyshire, re-joining the club after a decade. He was allowed to leave Hampshire and is now Derbyshire’s fifth domestic signing of the off season. Whiteley, 35, has been part of T20 Blast and Hundred title-winning teams and brings a winning mentality to the club, according to Derbyshire’s head of cricket, Mickey Arthur. Whiteley originally came through at Derbyshire and helped the club win the Division Two title in 2012 before moving to Worcestershire. He is expected to be available across all three formats for Derbyshire and is eager to bring success back to the county.
