The Prime Minister’s XI scored 367 for 4 in their first innings at stumps on day three at Manuka Oval, trailing Pakistan by 24 runs, with a draw looking likely on the final day’s play. Matt Renshaw’s unbeaten 136 strengthened his case for a Test recall and replacing David Warner. The 27-year-old outperformed other contenders for the Australian Test opener’s job. Outside of a 10-minute period where he hit two fours and a six, Renshaw played a defensive innings featuring 337 balls. Cameron Bancroft, Marcus Harris, and Cameron Green failed to capitalize on their starts, but Nathan McSweeney impressed with a solid 40.
