Shami out of SA Tests, Chahar to miss ODIs:

Mohammed Shami is out of the two-Test series in South Africa due to an ankle injury. He didn’t travel with the Test squad and has not been cleared by the BCCI medical team. There is no replacement named for Shami.

Deepak Chahar will also miss the ODI series due to a family medical emergency. He also missed the T20Is last week.

Shreyas Iyer will leave the squad after the first ODI to prepare for the Test matches. He hasn’t played a Test since March due to injury and is likely to play in the Boxing Day Test.

India’s ODI squad will be coached by Sitanshu Kotak, assisted by Rajiv Dutta and Ajay Ratra during the three-match series before Kotak links up with the India A squad.
