The remainder of Melbourne Renegades’ BBL season is Mujeeb Ur Rahman was terminated by the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) after revoking his No-Objection Certificate (NOC). He did not play Renegades’ eight-wicket defeat to Melburne Stars on Tuesday and has flown back to Afghanistan as he waits for an update. An ACB investigation will reconsider the sanctions imposed on Mujeeb and his teammates Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveen-ul-Haq. All three players are currently unavailable to play in overseas leagues, including IPL 2024. Joe Clarke, the English wicketkeeper-batter, has also been ruled out for the rest of the BBL season due to a quad injury.Renegades are realistically out of finals contention, having won only one of their first seven matches.
