Sydney Sixers staged a dramatic run chase at Optus Stadium to defeat defending champions Perth Scorchers and move into second place on the ladder. Skipper Moises Henriques held his nerve in the final over to seal the victory. Sixers will now play table-toppers Brisbane Heat in the Qualifier. Laurie Evans signed off with a superb innings of 72 off 34 balls for Scorchers, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win. Scorchers face a tough task ahead as they seek to replace Evans and address their top-order woes in their upcoming fixtures.
