Dhruv Jurel Reflects on Maiden India Call-Up and Hopes to Learn from Experience
Dhruv Jurel, who was called up to the Indian team for the first two Tests against England, is eager to learn how to develop mental fortitude to deal with the pressures of playing at the highest level. Jurel expressed his desire to understand how players handle bad days, criticism, and pressure when in the public eye on a larger stage.
The news of his call-up came as a shock to Jurel while he was playing for India A. He excitedly shared the news with his father, who couldn’t believe it either.
In a recent tour game, Jurel scored a quick 50, showcasing his batting prowess. He has a good first-class record and has proven himself as a finisher in white-ball cricket. However, he admits that transitioning to the longer format took time.
Jurel is also looking forward to sharing the dressing room with former U19 team-mate Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has been supportive of his call-up.
Jurel’s Rajasthan Royals team-mates, including Jos Buttler, also reached out to congratulate him on his selection for the Indian team.
