India dominates England in 1st Test of 2023/24 Series: Match Report

India had a great day at the first Test against England, extending their lead to 175 runs with 3 wickets still in hand after reaching 421 for 7 at stumps. England only managed to regain some control after five wickets fell in quick succession. KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja led the batting with impressive half-centuries. Debutant left-arm spinner Tom Hartley got his first wicket, and Mark Wood tested Shreyas Iyer right after. Despite the challenges, both Jadeja and Axar batted well, extending India’s lead through the day. The partnership between the two men now stands at 63 in 19.3 overs, leaving India in a dominant position at the end of day two.
