Alyssa Healy is confident she will play in Australia’s Test against India in Mumbai. The wicketkeeper-batter sustained a finger injury while trying to break up a fight between her dogs during the WBBL, but has returned to training and expects to be ready for the red-ball Test at the Wankhede Stadium on December 21. She is also in line to be named as Australia’s new captain after long-time teammate Meg Lanning’s retirement. The upcoming series in India will be a significant milestone for the Australian women’s team, as it will be their first Test in India since 1984.
