Australia coach McDonald will go home after the ODI World Cup to rest ahead of the Test summer, with assistant coach Borovec to lead the senior team in the T20 series against India. McDonald is also taking a break before the Test summer starting against Pakistan on December 14. Borovec, who has a long coaching career, will take the reins for the first time. He has been highly involved in Australia’s coaching staff and has also coached the Australia A team. Former coach Lachlan Stevens will assist Borovec during the India T20I series. Coaching secondments are used regularly by Australia to avoid burnout due to the heavy schedule.
