In spite of not taking part in the limited-overs series against Australia, West Indies Test hero Shamar Joseph could still make it into the T20 World Cup roster, causing a selection headache for coach Daren Sammy. Joseph wowed the cricket world with his performance in the Test victory over Australia at the Gabba, taking 7 for 68. Despite his limited T20 experience, Sammy believes he will become an all-format player and may be considered for the T20 World Cup squad. Despite being initially left out of the white-ball squads, Joseph had to withdraw from the ILT20 due to a toe injury. Sammy allowed Joseph to return home to recover and celebrate with his family, hoping that his incredible performance will inspire the inexperienced ODI squad in the upcoming series against Australia.
