The Hobart Hurricanes scored 187 for 4 (Wade 82, Wright 63, Rogers 2-32) in their victory over the Melbourne Renegades with a final score of 183 for 5 (Wells 40*, Ellis 2-32, Dooley 2-32). Matthew Wade’s 50-ball innings was instrumental in helping the Hurricanes secure the win. Wade’s partnership with Mac Wright, who scored a quick 63, helped the Hurricanes reach their target with an over to spare. The Hurricanes are now 1-2 in the Big Bash, while the Renegades are struggling without a win from four matches. There was some confusion towards the end of the Renegades’ innings when a no-ball was called against the Hurricanes’ Chris Jordan for an incorrect fielding position. Despite the drama, the Hurricanes were able to secure a much-needed victory.
