IPL season 2024 to Begin on March 22, Final Schedule TBD
The upcoming season of IPL 2024 is scheduled to take place from March 22 to the end of May, with the final match schedule to be decided once the polling dates for India’s general elections have been confirmed by the Election Commission. On the eve of the 2024 auction, the IPL has informed franchises about player availability.
Australia’s player Josh Hazlewood will only be available from the first week of May if he is bought at the auction. This is due to his wife’s pregnancy, and he was released by RCB with a base price of INR 2 crore. Other Australian players expected to be available for the entire season, and have been given a choice between playing in the Shield final and the IPL. English players will also be available for the tournament, and the ECB stated that it will directly manage players who require specific support ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Sri Lanka has made all its key white-ball players available for the entire IPL 2024, while Bangladesh’s players Taskin and Shoriful will not be available due to commitments with their national team. Ireland’s Josh Little will be available for the entire season, and players from Afghanistan, New Zealand, South Africa, West Indies, and Zimbabwe are also fully available for the tournament if they are bought at the auction.
