Pucovski sidelined from Sheffield Shield due to recurring concussion

The Victoria team’s Sheffield Shield clash with South Australia will be played without Will Pucovski, who experienced delayed concussion symptoms from a head injury in a 2nd XI game. Pucovski passed initial concussion tests but was later diagnosed with delayed concussion. Sam Harper, who had suffered a head injury at Melbourne Stars training during the BBL, has been cleared to play. Will Sutherland and Matt Short are unavailable due to being included in Australia’s ODI squad for the three-match series against West Indies. Peter Handscomb will lead the side in Sutherland’s absence, while Nic Maddinson and Scott Boland return to the team after missing previous games due to injury. Victoria’s Shield squad includes Marcus Harris, Campbell Kellaway, Jon Merlo, Todd Murphy, Fergus O’Neill, Mitch Perry, and Tom Rogers.
