South Australia’s Nathan McAndrew took career-best figures by claiming 6 for 41 on day three of the Sheffield Shield clash against Queensland at the Gabba. His performance helped dismiss the Bulls for 238. At stumps, South Australia held a lead of 252 after finishing the day at 131 for 8, with the hosts making a strong comeback in the match’s final session.

Day three saw 17 wickets fall, with both teams having a chance to secure an outright result on the final day due to clear weather conditions.

Queensland, who started the day on 82 for 1, faced regular wicket losses, with McAndrew taking five wickets by lunch, including the important dismissal of captain Usman Khawaja. In the second innings, Khawaja’s aggressive captaincy led to early wickets, with leg-spinner Mitch Swepson and fast bowler Gurinder Sandhu making important strikes.
