India head coach Rahul Dravid has strongly endorsed Rohit Sharma’s leadership and presence within the T20I setup after the side sealed a 3-0 sweep of Afghanistan on Thursday. Dravid appreciated Rohit’s performance in the series with two ducks followed by his fifth T20I century in India’s twin-Super-Over win in Bengaluru. The comeback of Rohit and Virat Kohli to T20Is after the T20 World Cup in 2022 was significant for India’s preparation for the T20 World Cup in June 2024. Dravid acknowledged Rohit’s brilliant performance in the recent game and praised his ability to adjust and perform under pressure. He emphasized Rohit’s range and contribution to the team, along with Kohli. Dravid also praised Rinku Singh for his adaptability and maturity in different game situations. Rohit also commended Rinku for his fearless and calm approach and his potential to be a finisher for India in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
