Rinku Singh has been selected for the India A squad for the second four-day match against England Lions, to be played in Ahmedabad from January 24. He was previously only named in the squad for the third and final game of the series. The 26-year-old has been busy in the past few months since making his T20I debut, winning gold at the Hangzhou Asian Games and playing in T20I series against Australia, South Africa, and Afghanistan. He also made his ODI debut in South Africa in December, playing two games. Rinku has played 46 first-class matches, scoring 3109 runs with an average of 57.57. He was part of the Uttar Pradesh team in the recent Ranji Trophy third-round match against Bihar. His addition to the India A squad comes at a time when selectors are exploring potential replacements for Virat Kohli. The India A squad for the second four-dayer includes Abhimanyu Easwaran (capt), B Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Sarfaraz Khan, Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Kumar Kushagra (wk), Washington Sundar, Sourabh Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Tushar Deshpande, Vidwath Kaverappa, Upendra Yadav, Akash Deep, and Yash Dayal.
