Shoaib Bashir Set to Make Test Debut in Place of Injured Jack Leach

1 min read

Ben Stokes confirms Jack Leach won’t feature in the second Test in lieu of knee injury from the first Test. Despite injury, Leach managed to bowl 10 overs in the second innings and dismissed Shreyas Iyer. However, he was unable to partake in the training session due to a deep bruise that caused constant swelling. Returning from a back injury, Leach’s unfortunate knee injury has him ruled out of the second Test. In his absence, Somerset’s Shoaib Bashir is set to receive his Test debut. Stokes is impressed with Bashir’s action and craft and is optimistic about Bashir’s success in Indian conditions.
