Sophie Ecclestone returns to England squad for tour of India after recovering from shoulder surgery

Sophie Ecclestone is back for England’s Test and T20I series in December after dislocating her right shoulder during the last summer’s Women’s Hundred. The left-arm spinner is working on her fitness after undergoing surgery in September. Notably, Ecclestone has been named in both the squads that will head to India. The head coach, Jon Lewis, is looking forward to Ecclestone’s return to the side for the respective series. The white-ball leg of England’s tour in India will serve as preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Bangladesh and an early look at the conditions for the next 50-over World Cup in India in 2025. Bess Heath, and Mahika Gaur are also part of the England squad picked for the Indian tour, alongside Ecclestone. Additionally, the selectors have named a 21-player A squad for a training camp in Oman. Players like Issy Wong and Tash Farrant are notable inclusions in the training squad. The T20I and Test squads for England have been revealed for the upcoming tour of India.
