Adelaide Strikers clinched victory from Melbourne Renegades in their WBBL fixture on Wednesday. Late hitting from Bridget Patterson powered Strikers over Renegades at Karen Rolton Oval. Strikers worked hard to achieve a target of 149. Renegades’ total was built around a 96-run partnership between Harmanpreet Kaur and Jess Duffin. Striker opener Katie Mack capitalized on Kennedy’s short bowling. Strikers’ captain Tahlia McGrath fell after scoring 2000 WBBL runs. Danielle Gibson’s falling did not hinder Strikers as Patterson calmly led them to victory. Renegades’ finals hopes appear forlorn after losing their sixth straight game. Renegades desperately needed Matthews to find form, but she was caught behind for a golden duck. Beaumont was bowled by Gibson. Harmanpreet masterfully played with the two-paced surface. Patterson played impressively, and Strikers moved back to the top of the ladder.
