Australia’s ODI World Cup winning squad had seven members – Pat Cumminis, Travis Head, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Steve Smith, Josh Inglis and Sean Abbott – who are part of the 25 players set to enter the 2024 IPL player auction with a base price of INR 2 crore (USD 240,000 approximately). New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra, who performed well at the World Cup, has listed his base price at INR 50 lakhs. Other significant players in the highest base price band include fast bowler Gerald Coetzee and England batter Harry Brook. The IPL shared a long list of 1166 players with the franchises, including 45 players from Associate nations, 909 uncapped players (812 Indian) and 18 capped Indian players. The franchises have a total of 77 slots to fill, with a cumulative purse of INR 262.95 crore available for spending.
