The 2023-24 Ranji Trophy season has reached its halfway mark. No team has emerged as a clear leader, but despite a surprise defeat to Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai, the 41-time champions, are still in a good position for the knockouts. Meanwhile, defending champions Saurashtra are struggling, and Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are gaining momentum. Here’s a recap of the fourth round of matches.

In one match, Himmat Singh played a heroic innings for Delhi, scoring an impressive 194 runs to ultimately secure a seven-run victory over Uttarakhand. Delhi’s young seamer Himanshu Chauhan also performed well, taking his maiden five-wicket haul.

In another game, Uttar Pradesh finally found their form and handed Mumbai their first defeat of the season. Aryan Juyal and Karan Sharma impressed as they successfully chased down 195 runs.
