Kane Williamson is set to captain New Zealand’s T20I squad in the upcoming home series against Bangladesh, marking his return to the format after over a year. Devon Conway, who was rested for the ODIs against Bangladesh, will also sit out of the T20Is due to workload management. Additionally, a number of players, including Michael Bracewell, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, and Henry Shipley, are out due to injuries, while Trent Boult has made himself unavailable for selection. James Neesham, who missed the previous T20I series, will be back in the squad, along with the inclusion of fast bowler Ben Sears.

He mentioned the success of players like Tim Seifert and emphasized the ongoing planning for the tournament. The T20I squad will assemble on Boxing Day ahead of the series opener against Bangladesh on December 27 in Napier, followed by games in Tauranga on December 29 and 31.

The T20I squad includes Kane Williamson (capt), Finn Allen, Mark Chapman, Kyle Jamieson, Adam Milne, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Ben Sears, Tim Seifert, Ish Sodhi, and Tim Southee.
