Yasir Ali impressed for East Zone as they secured a seven-wicket win against Central Zone in Chattogram. Yasir struck a century and was awarded the player of the match. However, it was the bowlers who played a significant role in the victory. Medium pacer Khaled Ahmed and offspinner Naeem Ahmed took four wickets each as Central Zone posted a total of 280 in their first innings.
In response, East Zone struggled at 70 for five before Yasir and Irfan Sukkur put on a 151-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Yasir scored nine fours and four sixes, while Irfan made 91 with 12 fours and a six. The other batsmen contributed just 45 runs as they reached a total of 257. In the second innings, Naeem took four wickets and Khaled took three as Central Zone were bowled out for 125. East Zone chased down their 149-run target with Amite Hasan and Shamim Hossain scoring unbeaten fifties in the fourth innings.
In another match, Abdullah Al Mamun’s century and Mahedi Hasan’s four-wicket haul were the highlights as North Zone and South Zone played to a draw in Sylhet. Mamun’s unbeaten 117 and Prantik Nawrose Nabil’s 90 were the standout performances for their respective teams. The match ended with South Zone surviving in the final hour, thanks to Moin Khan and Sumon Khan’s efforts to defend for nearly 90 minutes.
