Alyssa Healy and Darcie Brown selected for India tour, captaincy still undecided – Australia cricket news

1 min read

2 players have been selected for Australia’s upcoming tour of India despite injury concerns. Alyssa Healy and Darcie Brown are both included in the squad. It has not yet been decided who will replace Meg Lanning as the captain. Vice-captain Healy is the frontrunner for the role and may be Lanning’s successor. The one-off Test match in India on December 21 is the first since 1984. Healy’s finger is healing but she remains in a splint. Brown has been out with a hamstring injury but is expected to be fit for the Test. Left-arm quick Lauren Cheatle, who has been out of the team since 2019 due to injuries, has been selected for the Test based on her stellar performances in the WBBL and Australia A tour of England. Phoebe Litchfield is expected to step up in Lanning’s absence. Australia’s squad almost mirrors the line-up that drew the Ashes series in July. The matches will take place on two grounds in Mumbai.
