India defeated England by a massive 347 runs in the one-off Test at the DY Patil Stadium. England struggled to offer any resistance in their second innings, losing half their side in just 15 overs. India had set a target of 479 for the win, and after taking a 292-run lead in the first innings, the result was almost a certainty.
India declared their second innings at 186 for 6, with captain Harmanpreet Kaur remaining unbeaten on 44. This set England a target of 478. Indian quick bowlers Renuka Thakur and Pooja Vastrakar then took control of the match.
England started their second innings cautiously, but Thakur dismissed Tammy Beaumont, kick-starting England’s collapse. Vastrakar then took crucial wickets, leaving England at 68 for 4. Vastrakar’s third wicket, along with Deepti Sharma’s two wickets, sealed England’s fate.
