Daryl Mitchell has been withdrawn from New Zealand’s fifth T20I against Pakistan to manage his workload. The decision was taken considering the upcoming international schedule and the fact that New Zealand is already 4-0 up in the series. Gary Stead, the New Zealand coach, confirmed that Mitchell is being given a break to manage his workload as a three-format player. Rachin Ravindra will replace Mitchell in the fifth T20I. Mitchell has played 28 of New Zealand’s 34 matches across formats since August 30 last year. As for Ravindra, he last played for New Zealand in December and featured for Wellington on January 15. Additionally, opening batter Devon Conway’s participation in the fifth T20I will be decided on the morning of the match, as he is still experiencing Covid-19 symptoms. Stead mentioned that Conway’s symptoms will be monitored, and a decision will be made based on his condition the next day.
