Potential Inclusion of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood for WI and NZ T20I Matches

The Test summer workload for Australia’s three-format fast bowlers has been lighter than expected. They were rested from the ODIs against West Indies, but they might play one or both of the T20I series. There are concerns over the workload of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc at the IPL. However, Josh Hazlewood would be the likeliest of the three to play both T20I series. They did not play any T20Is last year, but Australia will back the same structure for the T20 World Cup on the slower pitches in the West Indies. David Warner will be selected for both the West Indies and New Zealand T20Is. However, Australia are yet to confirm who will captain the team at the T20 World Cup. Mitchell Marsh captained the side on an interim basis in South Africa and is a likely candidate. Coach Andrew McDonald will not coach the ODI and T20I series against West Indies as he will be resting ahead of the New Zealand T20I and Test tour.
