Shamar Joseph signs PSL contract with Peshawar Zalmi

West Indies’ Shamar Joseph’s performance against Australia has landed him a deal at the PSL with Peshawar Zalmi, with him expected to join the team at the start and remain with them for the tournament. Zalmi announced Joseph as a partial replacement for England’s Gus Atkinson but he will stay with the team for the entirety of the tournament, even after Atkinson joins. The announcement to sign Joseph did not come at the replacement and supplementary draft, which took place earlier today, and Zalmi later replaced Atkinson with Joseph. Other players were also brought in by PSL sides in the supplementary and replacement draft, including Haider Ali, Johnson Charles, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa. Rashid Khan, who withdrew from this year’s PSL, was not replaced, and Qalandars reserved their pick to potentially hold on to his services. Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, and other teams made replacements and supplementary picks as well. The tournament runs from February 17 to March 18, with Qalandars as the defending champions.
