Starc Reflects on Reaching 350 Test Wickets and Chasing Dennis Lillee

1 min read

Mitchell Starc found it “humbling” to surpass 350 wickets as Australia’s Test attack continued its run of landmarks. Starc, who racked up 4 for 68 on the opening day at the Gabba, became the fifth Australian to reach this milestone. He is now four wickets away from overtaking Dennis Lillee’s tally and becoming the country’s second-most prolific quick behind Glenn McGrath. However, Starc stated that he will only reflect on his personal achievements later in his career. He mentioned that he still has “some wickets to take” and that reaching these milestones is “nice to tick off” but the team is currently focused on enjoying their cricket. Starc also discussed his performance with the pink ball and how the pitch can impact its condition, noting that the Brisbane surface didn’t suit the pink ball as well as the Adelaide pitch.
