Dominica, one of seven Caribbean countries shortlisted to co-host the 2024 Men’s T20 World Cup, has withdrawn from hosting any matches. The government cited the country’s inability to complete necessary upgrades to practice and match venues before the tournament begins. The decision was made despite Windsor Park being shortlisted to host one group match and two Super 8 games, pending venue obligations specified in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The government expressed appreciation to Cricket West Indies (CWI) for their partnership and extended best wishes to the organizers for a successful tournament. It is unclear how the ICC and CWI will respond to Dominica’s decision.
