Tim David has joined MI Emirates in the ILT20 but may have to leave early if selected for Australia’s T20I series against West Indies next month. David’s BBL season is over, giving him a window to play in the UAE under the wildcard system. He currently plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL and MI New York in the MLC, both owned by the same group. The ILT20 runs until February 18, conflicting with Australia’s T20Is against West Indies. David had a poor BBL season but is likely to remain in Australia’s plans for the T20 World Cup. David Warner and Marcus Stoinis will also have to leave their respective leagues early to join the Australian squad. Australia has more T20Is in New Zealand later in February, with key IPL players seen as important for the build-up to the T20 World Cup. English batter Dan Lawrence has also joined the ILT20 as a wildcard signing for Desert Vipers.
