Johnson picked up 4 wickets for 26 runs, the best figures recorded in a BBL final. Johnson stated that he owed everything to Brisbane Heat and described them as life-changing. The opener, Josh Brown, also contributed with a brilliant 53 off 38 balls. The victory was seen as sweet redemption, especially after the disappointment of the previous season’s final.
